What is your favorite thing about being part of the Compass community? I love the balance our people bring to the gym, it's the perfect mix of 'let's f'ing go' while not taking ourselves too seriously and having fun while working out. I also love how welcoming people are in our space and the sweet bonds people have created with their fitness friends.
What is your favorite class format at Compass? Compass Full Direction - the perfect blend of spice: some gross cardio with some intentional strength training. So good.
What keeps you busy when you're not being amazing at Compass, for fun or otherwise? Outside of running this amazing gym we started in 2018, you can find me busy with the additional arms of my health and wellness business, which include nutrition consulting, personal training, endurance coaching and leading enneagram workshops! Away from work things, I enjoy time with my sweet fiancée, Amy, and snuggling our two tiny dog beings, Auggie and Fern.
What sort of sports/fitness activity things do you love? I was a three-sport athlete in high school and played division two basketball in college. Now, I am all in on triathlon! I love the mental and physical challenges of endurance sports. Running is my favorite of the three modalities and I'm excited to run my first full marathon in 2024. This mental-meets-physical informs how I teach: working hard requires a constant dialogue going to fuel determination, discipline and focus. I love reminding people they can do more physically than they think they can: watching this happen is so cool to witness.
A wizard is going to turn you into a banana split. You get to choose which part of the split you'll be. What do you choose? Ice cream of course! Mmmm.
How would you describe the style of music most often heard in your classes? New hip hop, some high energy EDM, and some Missy Elliott remixes.

What is your favorite thing about being part of the Compass community? The friendships that I’ve made and that members have made over the years. The inclusivity of the space. And the laughter that flows as steady as the sweat.
What is your favorite class format at Compass? Impossible question – depends on the day and my mood and my body and the sun and the moon and the time of day and what I ate that morning and how well I slept and if coached that day and if Mercury is in retrograde. (But bounce is always real fun.)
If you could only do one exercise/fitness move forever more, what would it be? The Goblet Squat – because I like peaches.
What keeps you busy when you're not being amazing at Compass? I work in residential real estate for Milehimodern, I have an 8 year girl who is in ALL of the sports—and I coach her in those sports, I play on the beach volleyball circuit, I play on a few tennis leagues, and I play golf. #ballsports
A wizard is going to turn you into a banana split. You get to choose which part of the split you'll be. What do you choose? The cherry. Duh.
Is the bunny the perfect move or the devil's move? It’s the devil’s perfect move.

What is your favorite thing about being part of the Compass community? Everyone here is so positive, so hard-working, so willing to try new and hard things, and also deeply hilarious. It is a really supportive place to be, as it is packed with humans who are trying to be their best – and hold up other folks trying to be their best, too.
What is your favorite class format at Compass? Full Direction. It’s a terrific mix of everything: cardio, strength, power, agility, and often we run outside, which is the very best.
If you could only do one exercise/fitness move forever more, what would it be? Burpees. I love them.
What keeps you busy when you're not being amazing at Compass? In my non-Compass life, I am an endurance running coach and a freelance stage manager (a job that also affords me the opportunity to wear a headset and microphone). I have a deep obsession with musical theatre and will happily wax poetic with you about your favorite show/song/Tony Awards moment anytime. Triathlon is my sport of choice, and the endurance mindset of getting comfortable being uncomfortable absolutely informs how I teach. I love to spend time with a fabulous lady to whom I am betrothed (see Jillian above: she’s cute!), and we mostly laugh at our weird dogs who are small.
A wizard is going to turn you into a banana split. You get to choose which part of the split you'll be. What do you choose? Oh, definitely the chopped nuts.
Is the bunny the perfect move or the devil's move? See above re: burpees, then add a jumping lunge and a couple of 180-degree turns. It is perfection multiplied.

What is your favorite thing about being part of the Compass community? Our members!! Y'all come in every day and tackle whatever workout we throw at you. My heart swells a little every time I see someone lift a little heavier, improve their form, or become a regular member!
If you could only do one exercise/fitness move forever more, what would it be? Deadlift. It truly is a move that (when done correctly) people can do forever. It has so many strength benefits, plus there's something special and empowering about a heavy lift!
What keeps you busy when you're not being amazing at Compass? I do personal training and I usually run 1-2 marathons per year; in 2024, I’ll do my first Hyrox competition. I love traveling, and my partner James and I are constantly trying to tire out our dogs, Winston & Zuko.
What sort of sports/fitness activity things do you love? I've been running marathons for 7 years. I love the peacefulness of a long run, and lately I've been focused on learning and training the accessory muscle groups needed for a successful race. That's why you'll always find a combination of classic strength moves, agility drills, mobility and core in my Tuesday South classes.
A wizard is going to turn you into a banana split. You get to choose which part of the split you'll be. What do you choose? The cherry on top :)
How would you describe the style of music most commonly heard in your classes? Hip hop with a beat drop. I ~might~ have been told a time (or ten) that my playlists take people back to their high school sports team workout sessions (or whatever age you were in the 2000s), which is the ultimate compliment!
Is the bunny the perfect move or the devil's move? She's PERFECT, never change.

What is your favorite class format at Compass?
Favorite class to teach is North, not only because that's where you'll see me on the schedule but because the past couple of years building upper body strength has been a main focus of mine and sharing that motivation with others is just so dang fun!
Favorite class to take is Monday Full-Direction. Initially my friend Kelly and I would challenge ourselves to show up every week at 4:15 and it has since turned into a necessary ritual. It is truly the best energetic start to my week, and a reminder to be grateful for my body’s ability to tackle a kick-ass workout!
What do you do for fun outside of Compass?
Full time, I am a High School Counselor. I love dabbling in new hobbies whenever I have the energy. Currently I am loving mountain biking, climbing, roller blading, puzzling, mid-morning iced coffee dates with friends, paddle boarding, outdoor concerts, and I recently learned how to surf! Anything that involves my people, the outdoors, and my pup Milo is typically where you'll find me outside of Compass :)

What is your favorite thing about being part of the Compass community? The energy each and every person brings to the workout.
What is your favorite class format at Compass? Can I say all of the formats, because moving is so joyful in every form?
If you could only do one exercise/fitness move forever more, what would it be? Walking/hiking, because you can vary the speeds and intensity, and it's good for both physical and mental health.
What keeps you busy when you're not being amazing at Compass? Traveling (to at least one new country every year), reading, baking, and spending all the time outdoors with my husband and two low-rider pups.
Specifically, what sort of sports/fitness activity things do you love? I love super technical heavy modalities, like kettlebells and barbells, but I also love pushing myself to try new things, especially things that don't come naturally (I'm looking at you, swimming, running, and biking). I believe there is a form of movement for every human, and it's beautiful that we get to explore and find what works for us.
A wizard is going to turn you into a banana split. You get to choose which part of the split you'll be. What do you choose? I'm the banana, because potassium is important, and because I'd get to toss my peel in the path of my enemies. No mercy.

What is your favorite thing about being part of the Compass community? Just that, THE Community! The people are the best anyone could surround themselves with. There is a palpable energy across the Compass community that values bettering oneself while having a damn good time, oh, and absolutely crushing it in the gym. The Compass community offers you best friends with a side of gains.
What is your favorite class format at Compass? North: nothing better than a solid upper body pump. That said, as a (retired) volleyball player, ladder footwork is an absolute fav of mine. I do love anything with weights - it’s always fun to see and track growth and I love helping others realize their strength! I will admittedly avoid running at all costs…
If you could only do one exercise/fitness move forever more, what would it be? Bicep curls. Why? The options are endless: traditional, hammer, wide, eccentric, reciprocal, supination, half way, holds, pulses; with dumbbells, resistance bands, kettlebells… you get the point.
What keeps you busy when you're not being amazing at Compass? During most regular business hours you can find me working as a pediatric audiologist (yes, I will answer your questions about your or your child’s ears) but what fills my cup outside of the gym is: traveling, coffee shops, soaking up the sunshine and meandering essentially any kind of market with friends and loved ones!
A wizard is going to turn you into a banana split. You get to choose which part of the split you'll be. What do you choose? Whipped cream 100%, although rainbow sprinkles would be a really close second.
Is the bunny the perfect move or the devil's move? Devils. No question.

What is your favorite thing about being part of the Compass community? I am so inspired by the members - they show up after injuries, through pregnancy, and they participate in the wildest races & events.
If you could only do one exercise/fitness move forever more, what would it be? I love a single arm overhead snatch because it makes me feel like a badass. But also, I am addicted to running and it will always be my number one!
What keeps you busy when you're not being amazing at Compass? I am an avid skier and love the cold months of the year. I love outdoor adventures, so working out at Compass is a tool for me to feel more capable out in the wilderness. I also didn't discover my love of fitness until college, so when I meet people who are just starting their fitness journey, I can relate: it's so fun to celebrate their new strength!
I work in public relations and love to take my goldendoodle on outdoor adventures. I also adore the Armchair Expert Podcast and have discovered I really enjoy growing vegetables. :)
A wizard is going to turn you into a banana split. You get to choose which part of the split you'll be. What do you choose? The sprinkles on top. Because even if the ice cream is melted and the banana is rotten, adding a few sprinkles can fix it all!
How would you describe the style of music most commonly heard in your classes? Remixes of Millennial hits .
Is the bunny the perfect move or the devil's move? Absolutely perfect. I'd much rather do 100 bunnies than 10 plank army-ups.
